About the role:
We are seeking casual veterinarians to provide support to our veterinary team at The Lost Dogs’ Home Veterinary Hospital. With both a primary care and shelter medicine division, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced vets who want a flexible schedule while making a meaningful impact on the lives of lost and abandoned animals.
As a locum veterinarian, you will work across a diverse caseload, including routine and emergency care for shelter animals, routine and non-routine surgeries, and client consultations at our Primary Care Hospital (formerly Frank Samways Vet Clinic).
With locations in both North Melbourne and Cranbourne, we offer flexibility in work location and role placement where possible, based on operational needs and your areas of interest.
About you:
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate veterinarians who thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will bring:
- A minimum of 2 years’ veterinary experience
- Confidence in soft tissue surgery
- Confidence in case management
- A strong commitment to animal welfare and ethical veterinary practice
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current Victorian Veterinary Registration
- Microchip Implanter Number
- Victorian Radiology Licence
- Quickly adapts to new systems, follows processes with accuracy, and ensures compliance with protocols
