Client Care Representative, Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic

Full Time role (76 hours per fortnight)

Part Time role (30 hours per fortnight - Thurs & Fri)

About us

The Lost Dogs’ Home is one of Australia’s most iconic animal welfare organisations, dedicated to caring for and rehoming thousands of lost and abandoned dogs and cats each year. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of these animals and the community. 

Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic modern, purpose-built clinic, providing full veterinary services to the public, adopters, and foster carers of The Lost Dogs’ Home, with all proceeds of the clinic going directly back into helping the shelter animals.

We are currently looking for a Full Time & Part Time Client Care Representative to be based in our clinic located in North Melbourne. This role represents and projects the professional image of the practice because it is the first point of contact for our established clients, new callers, and first-time visitors.

Our friendly, supportive team of Client Care Representatives enjoy the rush and excitement of working in a fast-paced vet clinic and have a passion for customer service and animal care. Our team is constantly learning new things with a wide variety of cases and animals coming through the doors each day, and the best part of the role is the amazing views of the dog park across the street!

 

About the role:

The Client Care Representative role plays an important part in the excellent service we provide to our clients and their fur babies. This role will involve juggling multiple priorities at once as you greet and check in clients and manage a busy daily task list. Some main responsibilities are:

  • Greeting clients and patients and answering enquiries,
  • Receiving, screening and redirecting all incoming calls,
  • Scheduling appointments including reminder information,
  • Triaging consultations, emergencies & walk in appointments,
  • Organising courier collections for blood samples,
  • Recommending suitable diets, and products for different pet needs and life stages,
  • Preparing invoices, receive payments and reconcile banking accuratel,
  • Stock control including ordering, receiving and entering of goods.

 

About you:

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong interest or experience in animal health and pet care. This role would suit someone who has studied in the animal field and is looking to put their theory into practice. We are also looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working as a receptionist or nurse in a busy clinic environment (desirable),
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Proficient time management and multitasking skills,
  • Warm, friendly, and caring attitude toward clients and their pets,
  • The ability to provide knowledgeable healthcare advice for owners,
  • Ability to work a rotating roster of shifts between the hours 7.30 am - 7 pm,
  • Excellent customer service skills,
  • Flexibility to work weekends if required.
