Pathways Coordinator – Part Time, 30 hours per fortnight
The Lost Dogs’ Home is Victoria’s largest animal shelter caring for over 18,000 animals across two sites in 2022/2023 alone. During our last financial year our dedicated team found new forever homes for more than 8,000 abandoned animals and reunited a further 4,400 lost pets, all while ensuring all animals received the very best care.
Each year The Lost Dogs’ Home relies on our wonderful network of foster carers provide a temporary, loving home for thousands of animals who are recovering from surgery, undergoing behaviour training, too young for adoption, or need some extra TLC outside of the busy shelter environment. The Lost Dogs’ Home also works in close partnership with multiple different rescue groups who help to rehome shelter animals who may not be suitable for adoption.
To support our Pathways program, we require a Part Time Pathways Coordinator who will be responsible in coordinating foster and rescue placements for our shelter animals to help them have a break from the shelter environment. You will be working alongside a tight-knit team of experienced animal welfare professionals, and you will be supported by the Pathways Team Leader.
As a Pathways Coordinator, you will have a great sense of job satisfaction knowing that you are contributing to improving the welfare of lost and abandoned animals each day in this busy role. A typical day will see you fulfilling the following duties:
Our ideal candidate will have a good understanding of animal welfare and veterinary services and can demonstrate strong customer services skills and emotional intelligence. You will be open to a flexible schedule including weekend work, and picking up additional hours where needed, as well as open to travelling and working across both our Cranbourne and North Melbourne sites. You will be excited to contribute to the positive pathways of our shelter animals and be willing to spend your day amongst some furry friends.
