About the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Strategy Lead, you'll be responsible for developing and embedding The Lost Dogs' Home's procurement framework while partnering with leaders across the organisation to deliver strategic sourcing, contract management and purchasing excellence.
This is a highly collaborative role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll work closely with operational and veterinary leaders, facilities, finance and support teams to improve procurement practices across a diverse range of categories including veterinary consumables, medical equipment, facilities, professional services, technology and operational supplies.
As our procurement subject matter expert, you'll have the opportunity to influence organisational decision-making and build procurement capability that will support the organisation well into the future.
In this role, you will
- Develop and implement The Lost Dogs' Home's procurement framework, policies and governance processes.
- Lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier negotiations and tender processes.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and identify opportunities for value creation.
- Drive cost savings through supplier consolidation, strategic sourcing and contract optimisation.
- Develop and maintain supplier contracts, ensuring ongoing performance and compliance.
- Establish procurement reporting, spend analytics and inventory management practices.
- Identify procurement risks and implement strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
- Provide procurement advice, coaching and training across the organisation.
- Champion ethical, sustainable and commercially sound procurement practices.
About you:
You'll be an procurement professional who enjoys improving systems, influencing stakeholders and finding smarter ways of working. You're commercially minded, highly organised and comfortable balancing strategic planning with operational delivery.
You'll also bring:
- Qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and contract management.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Experience implementing procurement policies, governance frameworks and purchasing processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend data and identify opportunities.
- Experience using procurement, ERP or inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
Experience within the not-for-profit, healthcare, veterinary or animal welfare sectors will be highly regarded but is not essential.
